THE MANAGEMENT HOLISTIC
GANADO O DESIERTO
Human beings tend to make decisions in a linear way or mechanical (no matter the level of education you have or the complexity or difficulty of the matter). This decision linear implies to focus exclusively on the solution of a problem without considering the whole that surrounds and contains. This way of thinking and acting is very successful when the challenges are mechanical, and proof of this are the technological advances that have profoundly changed our way of transport ourselves, communicate... In these technology issues, humanity shows some amazing skills and amazing results (airplanes, computers, underwater, touch screen, mobile phone...).

But when this way of thinking and acting that are used to solve challenges really complex and, above all, when they involve a multitude of living beings are interrelated, it is highly likely fail, or that generate consequences that were not intended. It is for this reason that, at this point of time, despite all the scientific and technical knowledge that we have, it is so difficult to solve the problem of hunger, desertification, deforestation or climate change, or just manage a piece of land with environmental outcomes, significant social and economic.
The “management holistic” is unlike any other proposal for management, because it operates at the level of the decisions of the managers of the territory (producers, farmers, managers of natural spaces,...). It is in the decision making where lie the root causes of the degradation and soil erosion, desertification and the decline of the economic and environmental of livestock throughout the world, with examples from a multitude of different environments (in rich or poor countries, in dry or humid climates, in private or public spaces, large or small, a valley or mountain...).
The “management holistic” is an innovative methodology for decision making on the part of the actors involved in the management of the territories: public Administrations, business owners, extensive farming... These decisions have to do with the handling of the animals, water management, prioritization of investments and the control of expenditure, the conservation of soil and landscape, and the productivity independent of the use of external inputs...
THE MANAGEMENT HOLISTIC
LOOKING FOR THE CORRECT OPERATION OF THE TERRITORIES FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF SOCIAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND ECONOMIC
The “management holistic” look for the correct operation of the territories from the point of view of social, environmental and economic. Can be used with success in all types of
territories under management, such as, for example, in the protected natural areas, in the pastures, in the pastures, in the fields of culture... This approach is based, environmental and productive, to recover the ancient, intimate and subtle performance that occurs between the large herds of herbivores, the communities of permanent pasture and soil microbiology.
The correct management of this triad (herbivores-grasses-ground) must be done by mimicking the natural processes of herbivory in freedom under the presence of predators.
This will achieve high productivity of plants (and therefore animals), at the same time ensuring the preservation of the soil and the proper functioning of the water cycle, without the need of inputs and technology external, in the form of fossil energy, fertilizers, animal feed, machinery or pesticides. Any action for the conservation of nature must consist in recovering the effectiveness of these ecosystem processes that are key.
